Year 2 Speech Presentations 2026
On Tuesday, 9th June and Thursday, 11th June 2026, our Year 2 students delivered thoughtful and engaging presentations as part of their Term 1 speech project. This event was rooted in Waseda Shibuya’s inquiry-based learning approach, which encourages students to investigate meaningful topics through questioning and exploration.
Each class focused on a topic connected to Singapore—ranging from its future as a smart city to its diplomatic ties and founding leaders. Students selected areas that piqued their personal curiosity, conducted in-depth research, and synthesized their insights into compelling speeches. They also collaborated in teams to design visually rich slides that brought their findings to life.
Teamwork played a vital role throughout the process. Students supported one another in refining their content and building confidence in public speaking. Presentation topics included “Singapore and its Global Role,” “Singapore: City of the Future,” “Singapore and its Relationship with Malaysia,” and “Made in Singapore”.
The Term 1 speech presentations were a great success, combining fun, collaboration, and rigorous learning. Students not only deepened their understanding of Singapore’s role in the world but also strengthened their research, communication, and critical thinking skills.
